Western Private Hospital will provide an estimate of your stay based on the information supplied by your doctor. Your estimated gap must be settled on admission. Payment options include Credit Card (Diners and American Express not accepted), Money Order or Bank Cheque, EFTPOS and cash. We do not accept personal or business cheques.  Please note that effective 1st November 2023, a 1% surcharge will be applied to all Credit Card Transactions.

Non hospital fees such as; Doctor, Pharmacy, Radiology and Pathology will be billed separately to your hospital account, for an estimate of these costs you will need to contact the provider directly.

Self-funded hospital stays need to be paid in advance or on the day of surgery. Fees are an estimate only and any balances are required to be settled on discharge.

 

Private Health Insurance

Prior to sending in your admission form, please check with your private health fund that your insurance is up to date and that you have sufficient cover for you stay. Payments for health fund excesses and costs for excluded procedures are your responsibility.

 

Veterans

The hospital will verify entitlements for all Veterans Affairs patients prior to hospital stay.

 

Workers’ Compensation, TAC and Third Party Patients

All Workers’ Compensation, TAC, public liability and third party patients require approval from their insurer prior to admission. If approval is not received, the patient is required to pay the estimated amount on or before the day of admission.
