ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Medical Audio Typist

PART-TIME | 3 DAYS PER WEEK

We have an opportunity for a motivated, experienced and reliable Medical Audio Typist to join our friendly and dynamic team. You will be responsible for transcribing reports dictated by various Specialists at the WPH Consulting Suites and Radiologists from the PET Centre in a timely and accurate manner.

This will include:

  • Audio-typing summaries of patients’ stay in hospital – including diagnosis, examination progress, investigations, drugs, and future management
  • Liaising with medical staff regarding clarification of anomalies in dictated letters and summaries
  • Ensuring proficient distribution of all typed letters and summaries
  • Forwarding completed correspondence to appropriate medical staff to facilitate prompt signatures, correction of anomalies, and mailing or faxing of correspondence therefore enabling efficient communication with referring general practitioners
  • Ensuring the updating of case records is undertaken by filing the copy of the correspondence into the case record

The position is permanent part-time 3 days per week, with a degree of flexibility in hours & days worked, and we are looking for an immediate start.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Previous sound experience with medical audio typing
  • Extensive knowledge of medical  and radiology terminology
  • Excellent typing skills – high level speed and accuracy
  • Excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar skills
  • Excellent computer literacy and experience in Microsoft Office Suite preferred

Western Private Hospital is the only private hospital serving Melbourne’s western and surrounding suburbs. We provide services in the specialties of interventional and diagnostic cardiology, vascular (interventional and surgical), acute medical, acute surgical, sleep studies, oncology care (inc. chemotherapy and radiation oncology).

The Cardiac Services Unit has 21 beds, 11 of which are centrally monitored.  Our services include caring for patients before, during and after coronary and vascular angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions, interventional vascular procedures,  insertion of permanent pacemakers, electrophysiology studies, TOE/DCR’s and medical cardiology. This variety creates an excellent opportunity for our team to be dynamic, flexible and customer focused in addressing the unique needs of our patients.

We are looking for a motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our leadership team. It is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, suitably qualified person to join Western Private Hospital during this exciting period of strong growth. You will be responsible for the clinical management of patients within the unit and work flow, ensuring that the highest standard of patient care with all available resources is provided at all times. You will be able to competently and confidently manage the overall smooth running of the unit by liaising and coordinating care of the patients with Visiting Medical Officers, the Cath Lab team and allied health services.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Current AHPRA registration, RN Div 1
  • Postgraduate Certificate (or equivalent) in Critical Care/Coronary Care
  • Previous CNS/ANUM experience in a Cardiac Unit
  • Experience in clinical coordination, floor coordination and staff management

CARDIAC TECHNOLOGIST (Grade 2 or 3)

PART-TIME POSITION  |  2 days per week

We have a vacancy for a Cardiac Technologist to join our friendly team in the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory.  The position is part-time 2 days a week and the successful applicant must have some flexibility and be able to be on-call on the days they are rostered to work.

Our new Cardiac Catheter Laboratory is a purpose-built “state of the art” facility which is equipped with the latest technology and is supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced staff, providing diagnostic and interventional cardiology services, supported by the hospital’s Coronary Care Unit.

The Cardiac Technologist will be responsible for performing cardiac tests requiring physiological measurements and analysis, haemodynamic recording and monitoring and technical troubleshooting, as well as other duties including catheter laboratory procedures, echocardiography, stress testing, holter and blood pressure monitoring, EPS/pacing and occasional pre-op ECGs – depending on qualifications and experience – working in a team or independently.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Tertiary qualification in Biomedical/Medical Science/Cardiac Technician OR equivalentCompletion of QUT or DMU OR recognised number of years in the profession
  • Current registration as an accredited medical sonographer (cardiac specialty) with ASAR
  • Minimum of 3 years postgraduate echocardiography experience in Australia
  • Extensive experience in invasive and non-invasive cardiac technology is desirable
  • Clear, concise and professional communication skills
  • Effective time management and organisational skills

We are seeking experienced Theatre Technicians with a strong teamwork focus and effective customer service skills to join our Perioperative Services team.  You will enjoy working within a reputable and world class theatre environment with leading technologies and outstanding amenities.

A role that offers responsibility, challenge and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and motivated multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assisting Medical and Nursing Staff by performing a full range of duties.

Your duties will encompass providing assistance with patient handling, transportation of patients to and from theatres, positioning of patients (lifting and turning), setting up and managing theatre case set-ups in accordance with operating lists, displaying attention to correct handling and management of sterile disposable and non-disposable stock, collection and delivery of equipment, assisting in stock management involving ordering and stock rotation including linen and other non-medical supplies, assisting in emergencies and patient restraint and any associated cleaning and ancillary duties.

To be successful in this role, applicants must have the ability and willingness to develop their knowledge of various theatre instruments, equipment and infection control processes.  Key attributes sought are enthusiasm, good time management skills, a sound work ethic, clear communication skills and the ability to follow direction.  The ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised is essential.  Applicants will be expected to be able to manage the physical demands of the position and be willing and flexible to participate in a rotating roster and on-call duties as and when required.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Must possess a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Technician)
  • A Certificate IV in Operating Theatre Technical Support would be desirable
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in Australia as an Operating Theatre Technician

We are looking for people who have experience working as Patient Services Assistants / Cleaners / Orderlies to work at Western Private Hospital.  The PSA role is multi-skilled involving performance of duties across three of more functional areas of patient support services which include cleaning (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and rubbish removal, toilet/bathroom detailing, walk behind scrubbing, steam cleaning, window cleaning, etc) and housekeeping, transport and couriering, ward support, perioperative support and patient support.

You will work cohesively as part of the Housekeeping Team in providing a clean and safe health care environment for our staff and patients whilst contributing to the delivery of a high quality housekeeping service at the hospital.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, have excellent communication skills, be willing to embrace changes, be able to work independently and as part of a team, have excellent customer service skills and well-developed verbal communication skills, have knowledge & respect for workplace safety, have the ability to maintain high standards of quality care, and be able to prioritise workloads in a changing environment, be flexible in their rostering and be able to pick up extra shifts.

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or Cleaning Operations (or equivalent)

Cardiac Cath Lab Radiographer (MEDICAL IMAGING TECHNOLOGISTS)

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Radiographer to join our team on a permanent part-time basis in the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. The position is for 3 days per week and the successful applicant is required to work Fridays and will ideally have some flexibility to be able to be on-call on other days to help cover leave.

We have a purpose-built “state of the art” facility that is equipped with the latest technology to provide a wide range of cardiac procedures including angiography, angioplasty, electrophysiology and pacing.  The Cardiac Cath Lab is supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced staff, providing diagnostic and interventional cardiology services, and supported by the hospital’s Cardiac Services Unit.

As a member of our team, you will be required to provide high quality, accurate diagnostic imaging services to referrers and patients in accordance with professional, ethical and industry quality standards. You will be performing complex as well as routine cardiac procedures and then entering the images onto the system.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform high quality medical imaging diagnostic examinations employing correct techniques to the accepted industry standard or above
